1999 - Pictures from Egypt

Look carefully at this photo. Thats me on the good looking camel, Tony Yankov (our Bulgarian travel rep) is on the left and the other bloke is the biggest rip off merchant this side of Pluto! He will take as much money as he can off you for a photo like this. No matter what you offer him, it is not enough. I was delighted when Tony paid him in Bulgarian currency which was worthless in Cairo because no bank would exchange it. The guy was just so greedy he literally grabbed as much as could and disappeared into the sunset with his two camels and a load of our worthless money. Ripping him off was the best laugh we had in Cairo. Seriously though, I know people have to make a living but when you dreamed about seeing the pyramids for most of your life this guy is the last person you need to meet when you arrive there. His incessant hustling almost ruined the experience for me until Tony arrived on the scene. I tried to take a photo only for him to stand in the way and demand money. This is not the way to treat tourists. Egyptian Tourist Board please take note. Egyptian Revenue Department also take note. I have close ups of this thug for your files.
